On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC hosted an Investiture Ceremony for residents of Queensland who were recipients of awards under the Australian Honours and Awards System, announced in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours Lists, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Parliament House, His Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

Following, at Parliament House, His Excellency received the Deputy Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Michael Reis, for the presentation of one Bill for Assent.

In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in honour of Queenslanders recognised in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours Lists. Guests included: The Honourable Justice Martin Daubney AM and Mrs Rosie Daubney; Mr Sydney Kirkby AO MBE and Ms Judith Lang; Professor Suzanne Chambers AO and Professor Jeffrey Dunn AO; Professor Claire Wainwright AM; Ms Agnes Whiten AM and Professor Bill Whiten; Mrs Kirsten Herring PSM and Mr Richard Herring; Superintendent Dale Frieberg APM and Mr Jack Ulrich; Mrs Noeline Clamp OAM and Mr Desmond Clamp; Professor Stephen Margolis OAM and Dr Valmae Ypinazar; Wing Commander Julie-Ann Leo CSM; and Air Commodore Mark Gower AM OAM (Mil) and Mrs Julie Gower.
