On Thursday, in the morning, at ANZAC Square, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the Students’ ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony where His Excellency addressed guests and laid a wreath.
In the afternoon, at Parliament House, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
Following, the Governor assumed duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia; and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes commenced duty as Acting Governor.
In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted a reception to celebrate the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II where the Administrator addressed guests.
