On Thursday, in the morning, at Kensal Green Cemetery, London, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD laid a wreath in remembrance of the first Governor of Queensland, the Honourable Sir George Ferguson Bowen GCMG.
In the morning, at Government House, Brisbane, members of the Probus club of Indooroopilly visited for a guided tour of the House and Gardens.
Following, at 1 William Street, Brisbane, the Honourable Chief Justice, Helen Bowskill, Acting Governor, presided over a meeting of the Executive Council.
In the afternoon, at Queensland House, London, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received, via telephone, winner of the British Open Golf 2022, Mr Cameron Smith.
Following, at Queensland House, London, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing from Agent-General for Queensland in the United Kingdom, Mr David Stewart, and Trade and Investment Queensland Europe team representatives.
Following, at Australia House, London, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing from the Deputy Australian High Commissioner, Ms Julie Heckscher.
Following, at Mansion House, London, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo were received by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, the Right Honourable Alderman Vincent Keaveny.
In the evening, at the East India Club, London, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a Dinner in recognition of Inspiring Queenslanders, and the Governor addressed the guests. Guests included; Ms Catherine Gee; Mr Nathan Gee; Mr Paul Kelly; Mr Robbie McMillan; Mr Chris Milligan; Ms Rebecca Newman; Ms Katie Randall; Ms Sophie Rice; Mr Matthew Shelley; Mr James Swanston; Ms Elli Welsh; Wing Commander Jim Xinos; Mr Dave Stewart; and Mrs Kate Hastings.
