On Wednesday, in the morning, at Herston Quarter, Kelvin Grove, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended the official launch of Brisbane Open House, and the Governor addressed guests.

Also in the morning, the Governor General of Australia, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Mrs Linda Hurley; the Administrator of the Northern Territory, His Honour Prof. the Hon. Hugh Heggie PSM and Ms Ruth Jones; the Governor of Tasmania, Her Excellency the Hon. Barbara Baker AC and Emeritus Prof. Don Chalmers AO and Governor of South Australia, Her Excellency the Hon. Frances Adamson AC departed Government House.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received the Ambassador of Egypt, His Excellency Mr Mahmoud Mohamed Gamal Eldin Zayed.

In the evening, at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a dinner. Guests included: Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC and Mr Dennis Wilson; His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM and Mrs Darrilyn Dawson and Ms Jane Nimmo.

Following, at Suncorp Stadium, Milton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended Game II of the State of Origin series. Guests included: Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC and Mr Dennis Wilson; His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM and Ms Jane Nimmo.
