On Wednesday, in the morning, in Wuhan City, People’s Republic of China, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey visited the Hubei Provincial Library, where they viewed the Hubei-Queensland children’s painting exchange exhibition and undertook a guided tour of the Library.
Following, at the Office of Hubei Provincial Government, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey met the Governor of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, Mr Wang Xiaodong; Vice-Governor, Hubei Provincial People’s Government, Ms Chen Anli; Secretary General, Hubei Provincial People’s Government, Mr Bie Bixiong; Director General, Hubei Provincial Department of Education, Mr Tao Hong; Vice-Mayor, Wuhan Municipal People’s Government, Ms Xu Honglan; Deputy Director-General of Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Mr Hu Yinghai and Deputy Director-General of Hubei Provincial Department of Culture, Mr Yan Rongli.
Following, at the Westin Hotel, the Governor attended a Queensland Education Networking Luncheon, and addressed guests.
In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey visited the Hubei Shuiguohu No. 2 Middle School, where the Governor addressed the second-round shortlisted students in the Queensland Cup “Amazing Hubei” English language talent competition.
Following, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey visited the Hubei Provincial Museum, where they attended a musical performance.
