On Friday, in the morning, at Blue Care Ioana Retirement Village, Kenmore Hills, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, presided over a Private Investiture Ceremony for The Venerable Heather Toon OAM.

In the afternoon, at Government House, Her Excellency and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD hosted an afternoon tea in support of World Down Syndrome Day, and the Governor addressed guests.

In the evening, at Queensland Performing Arts Centre, South Brisbane, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Queensland Ballet's opening night performance of Kenneth MacMillan's 'Romeo & Juliet'.
