On Monday, in the morning, at Swansea University Bay Campus, Swansea, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD toured the Centre for Integrated Semiconductor Materials (CIMS) and received a briefing from university and government representatives, including Professor of Materials Physics and Sêr Cymru National Research Chair, Professor Paul Meredith, Director, Compound Semiconductor Centre, Cardiff University, Dr Wyn Meredith, Commercialisation Senior Manager, Welsh Government, Dr Chris Young, Director, Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS), Professor Andrew White,
Translation Research Program Manager, Australian Research Council Centre for Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS), Professor Michael Harvey, Deputy Commissioner, Trade and Investment Queensland Europe, Mr Warren Bartlett, and Director, International Operations, Trade and Investment Queensland, Ms Devinka Wanigesekera.
Following, at Imperial Park, Newport, South Wales, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the advanced manufacturing and research and development site and received a briefing.
In the afternoon, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Newport, South Wales on Official Travel to Norfolk, England.
