On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received Mr Michael Reis, Deputy Clerk of the Parliament, for the presentation of a bill for Assent.
Following, at Government House, the Governor received Professor John Pearn AO RFD, National President, Scout Association of Australia, and Mr Daryl Scott, Chief Commissioner, Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch.
Following, at 1 William Street, Brisbane, the Governor attended a ceremony where the Honourable Justice Walter Sofronoff took the Oath of Allegiance and of Office enabling his Honour, in accordance with the Constitution of Queensland 2001, to assume the role of Acting Governor as required.
Following, at 1 William Street, Brisbane, the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council of Queensland.
In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor received Ms Keiko Yanai, Consul-General of Japan in Queensland, and Mr Takahiko Watabe, Deputy Consul-General of Japan in Queensland.
In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a reception for the Australian Association of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta, where His Excellency addressed guests.
