On Friday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC commenced duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes assumed duty as Acting Governor. 

Following, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an Australian Citizenship Ceremony, and the Governor officiated and addressed guests.

In the evening, at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, South Bank, His Excellency attended Opera Queensland’s opening night performance of The Merry Widow.
