Government House Queensland
On Tuesday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC hosted a breakfast in support of Queensland media. Guests included: Mr Benjamin Roberts-Smith VC, MG, General Manager, Seven Queensland; Mrs Kylie Blucher , Managing Director, Channel Nine Queensland; Mr Ben English, Editor, Townsville Bulletin; Mr Lachlan Heywood, Editor, Courier Mail; Mr Rod Prosser, General Manager, Network Ten; Mrs Jenny Woodward, Presenter, ABC News Queensland; Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM; Ms Cecily Pearson; and Mr Chris Piggott-McKellar.
Following, at the Queensland Museum, the Governor viewed his judicial regalia which was donated to the Museum earlier in the year.
In the afternoon, the Governor received Mr Michael Ries, Deputy Clerk of the Parliament, for the presentation of two bills for Assent.
In the evening, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a reception in support of the Australian Institute of International Affairs, Queensland (AIIA) where His Excellency addressed guests and presented the 2016 AIIA Queensland Award and the 2016 AIIA Queensland Scholarship Asia Pacific.
