On Thursday, in the morning, at Cairns Marlin Marina, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia and Mrs Kaye de Jersey received a briefing regarding the Great Barrier Reef, boarded patrol vessel ‘Jakarra’, and departed for Green Island.
Following, at Green Island, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey met tourism operators, toured the reef, and were briefed on the implementation of the Great Barrier Reef joint Field Management Program.
In the afternoon, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey departed Green Island for Michaelmas Cay, received a briefing on seabird and reef health monitoring, and then returned to Cairns.
In the evening, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey returned to Brisbane from Regional Government House operations in Cairns, Far North Queensland.
Also in the morning, in Brisbane, the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes, Acting Governor presided at a meeting of Executive Council.
Following, at the QEII Courts of Law, the Acting Governor received Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament, and assented to Bills of the Queensland Parliament.
