On Friday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM departed Government House for Official Travel to Townsville City Council.

In the afternoon, at Townsville Stadium, Her Excellency hosted an Investiture Ceremony for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours List, 2023 Australia Day Honours List and the March 2023 Bravery Announcement; Mr Peter Maxwell Cooke AM; The Honourable Ian Douglas Macdonald AM; Mr Waine Douglas Scott AFSM; Assistant Commissioner Matthew Raymond Green ASM; Mr Darryl James Prizeman ESM; Mr Laurence Wayne Dixon OAM; Mr Kevin Michael Pattel OAM; Mrs Dushyanthi Thangiah OAM; Mrs Janet Estelle White OAM; and Mr Benjamin Charles McCauley.

In the evening, at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, South Brisbane, Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s performance of ‘Maestro Concert: Clerici Conducts Mahler’.

Following, Her Excellency returned to Government House from Official Travel to Townsville City Council.
