On Tuesday, in the morning, at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC met staff and toured operations at the Centre for Children’s Health Research.
Following, at Government House, the Governor hosted a luncheon for the outgoing Auditor-General of Queensland, Mr Andrew Greaves, and Ms Fleur Spriggs.
In the afternoon, the Governor welcomed overnight guest, His Excellency Mr John Berry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Australia. Shortly afterwards, overnight guests, Mr James Carouso, Deputy Chief of Mission & Acting Consul-General, United States Embassy, and Ms Elizabeth Visbeek, also arrived at Government House.
Following, the Governor received Mr Peter Varghese AO, Chancellor, The University of Queensland.
In the evening, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in honour of US business leaders in Queensland. Guests included: the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland, & Mr Shaun Drabsch; His Excellency Mr John Berry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Australia; Mr James Carouso, Deputy Chief of Mission & Acting Consul-General, United States Embassy, & Ms Elizabeth Visbeek; Professor Peter Coaldrake AO, Vice-Chancellor, Queensland University of Technology; Ms Julieanne Alroe, Managing Director and CEO, Brisbane Airport Corporation Ltd, & Mr Peter Van der Giessen; Mr Scott Hartley, Chief Executive Officer, Sunsuper, & Mrs Jenny Hartley; Mr Steve Houghton, General Manager, Queensland American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, & Mrs Robyn Houghton, Executive Director, American Chamber of Commerce; Ms Angela MacDonagh, Chief of Staff to Annastascia Palaszczuk, Premier of Queensland & Mr Paul Dunn; and Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM & Mrs Julie Gower.
