On Monday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland, received His Excellency Michael D Higgins, President of Ireland, and Mrs Sabina Higgins.

Also in the morning, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Mrs Kaye de Jersey, Patron of the Queensland Country Women’s Association, officially opened the QCWA State Conference.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor received the Honourable Peter Wellington MP, Speaker of the Queensland Parliament; Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Queensland Parliament; and Ms Liz Tavander, Acting Sergeant-at-Arms of the Queensland Parliament, for the presentation of bills for Assent.
