On Friday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC assumed duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes assumed duty as Acting Governor of Queensland.

In the afternoon, the Governor ceased duty as Administrator of the Commonwealth of Australia and resumed duty of Governor of Queensland, and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes ceased duty as Acting Governor.

In the evening, at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the opening night performance of the Australia Ballet’s ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ followed by a post-performance reception.
