In the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Cairns for Bamaga, where they were welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of The Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council (NPARC), Cr. Edward Newman.
In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey visited the NPARC Ranger Base where they received a presentation by the Northern Peninsula Area Rangers on the management of traditionally owned land, including turtle management practices and ghost net management.
Following, at the Cape York Peninsula Lodge, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey were hosted at lunch by NPARC.
Then, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey toured the Northern Peninsula area including a visit to the northern most point of the Australian continent, ‘Pajinka’.
In the evening, at Loyalty Beach, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey received a formal welcome to country at a dinner with community members hosted by NPARC.
