On Friday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD visited Mossman State School, addressed students and teachers, toured the school and read a book.
Following, at the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a morning tea in support of the Douglas Shire community, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, at the Mossman RSL Sub-Branch, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the facility, inspected the historical displays and met with volunteers.
Following, at Mossman Multi-Purpose Health Centre, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff.
In the afternoon, at Beechwoods Café, Mossman, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo received, Mayor, Douglas Shire Council, Cr Lisa Scomazzon and Councillors for a working lunch.
Following, at Douglas Shire Council Chambers, Mossman, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Australian Red Cross Mossman Branch presentation of Length of Service Awards, and the Governor addressed guests and presented awards.
Following, at Mossman Men’s Shed, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the facility and met with members.
In the evening, at Watergate Restaurant, Port Douglas, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a dinner with Queensland Symphony Orchestra Board members, supporters and partners.
Following, at Macrossan Street, Port Douglas, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo viewed the Parade as part of the 30th annual Port Douglas Carnivale.
Following, at the Court House Hotel, Port Douglas, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo viewed the fireworks as part of the 30th annual Port Douglas Carnivale.
