On Wednesday, in the morning, at Depot Hill, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD visited Depot Hill State School and hosted a community breakfast, and the Governor addressed students, staff and guests and read a book.
Following, at Rockhampton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited Rockhampton Community and Public Health Service and received a briefing on operations and meet with staff and patients.
Following, at Rockhampton Leagues Club, Rockhampton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the 2021 Rockhampton Youth Parliament, and the Governor addressed members of the Youth Parliament and guests.
Following, at Supreme Court of Queensland, Brisbane, Deputy Governor, Chief Justice of Queensland, the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes AC, received the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, for the presentation of the Queensland University of Technology Amendment Bill 2021 - A bill for an Act to amend the Queensland University of Technology Act 1998 for particular purposes and Justice and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2021 - A bill for an Act to amend the COVID-19 Emergency Response Act 2020, the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012, the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Rules 2014, the Governors (Salary and Pensions) Act 2003, the Liquor Act 1992, the Oaths Act 1867, the Powers of Attorney Act 1998, the Property Law Act 1974 and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 for particular purposes, to repeal the Domestic and Family Violence Protection (COVID-19 Emergency Response) Regulation 2020 and the Justice Legislation (COVID-19 Emergency Response—Documents and Oaths) Regulation 2020, and to make minor and consequential amendments of the legislation mentioned in schedule 1, to which the Deputy Governor granted Assent.
Following, at Rockhampton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited Rockhampton Police Station and meet with emergency services representatives.
In the afternoon, at Rockhampton Zoo, Rockhampton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the Meerkat Enclosure.
Following, at Rockhampton Zoo, Rockhampton, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo met with representatives from the Queensland Reds Rugby team as part of their ‘Reds to Region’ tour.
In the evening, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo returned to Government House following official travel to Rockhampton, Woorabinda and Baralaba.
