On Friday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received the Honourable Peter Wellington MP, Speaker of the Parliament, for the presentation of two Appropriation Bills for Assent, and Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament, accompanied by Ms Liz Tavender, Acting Sergeant-at-Arms, for the presentation of three Bills for Assent.

Following, the Governor departed Brisbane for an official visit to Rockhampton.  

In the afternoon, at Port Curtis Road State School, Port Curtis, the Governor attended a special assembly and addressed guests, and then toured classrooms.

Following, at the Empire Apartment Hotel, Rockhampton, the Governor hosted a reception in support of the Rockhampton community and addressed guests.

In the evening, at the Pilbeam Theatre, the Governor attended Queensland Ballet’s performance of ‘La Fille mal Gardée’.
