In the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC departed Brisbane for an official visit to Gympie and Biloela.
Following, in Gympie, the Governor met Mayor, Gympie Regional Council, Councillor Mick Curran and other Council and emergency services representatives, and received a briefing, and then accompanied by the Mayor, the Governor toured the Gympie area to view flood-affected businesses, and thanked emergency services workers involved in relief and clean-up efforts.
In the afternoon, in the Banana Shire, the Governor, accompanied by the Mayor, Banana Shire Council (BSC), Councillor Ron Carige, visited flood-affected areas, including Thangool State Primary, and Kroombit Tops Tourist Park, where the Governor thanked volunteers and emergency services workers involved in relief and clean-up efforts. Following, the Governor met and thanked BSC staff and disaster coordination representatives and then returned to Brisbane.
