On Friday, in the morning, at Queensland Cruising Yacht Club Marina, Shorncliffe, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, with Mrs Kaye de Jersey, officially started the 68th Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.

In the evening, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rosalie, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the Canticum Chamber Choir annual Good Friday Musical Meditation.
