On Friday, in the morning, at Queensland Police Service Headquarters, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, welcomed by Police Commissioner Ian Stewart APM, received a briefing on planning and operations from the Senior Executive and visited: Police Operations Centre; Brisbane Police Communications Centre; Scientific Section, Forensic Services Group; and Media and Public Affairs Group.
In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey received the Chief Justice of Queensland the Honourable Catherine Holmes and Dr Arthur Preston.
In the evening, at Suncorp Stadium, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the National Rugby League Preliminary Final between the Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney Roosters.
