On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC CVO greeted members from Burnie Brae – Chermside visiting for a guided tour of the House and gardens.
Following, at the Shrine of Remembrance, Naval Association of Australia QLD Section Memorial, South Brisbane, His Excellency was represented by Honorary Aide-de-Camp, Commander Peter Tedman DSM OAM, at the commemoration service for the Merchant Navy and laid the first wreath.
Following, at 1 William Street, His Excellency presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency greeted members of the public visiting for a guided tour of the gardens.
In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in recognition of outstanding Queensland contributors, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: The Honourable Dianne Farmer MP and Ms Millie Collier; Councillor Adrian Schrinner and Mrs Nina Schrinner, the Honourable Geoffrey Davies AO and Ms Thea Davies; Dr Sally Pitkin AO and Mr Nigel Chamier AM; LTCOL Tony Coyle and Mrs Marie-Ann Coyle; Mr David de Jersey QC; Ms Catherine Fullerton and the Honourable Jane Prentice; Mr Johannes Fritzsch; Mr Bruce Hatcher and Mrs Tricia Hatcher; and Mr Tom Sullivan QC and Dr Natalie Sullivan.
