In the morning, at Jezzine Barracks, Townsville, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the 2015 Townsville Australia Day Awards Ceremony, at which the Governor presented the 2015 Citizen of the Year Award to Ms Irene Burrows.

Following, also at Jezzine Barracks, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey visited and toured the Army Museum North Queensland; and then attended the 2015 Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony, where the Governor received the Royal Salute, reviewed the Australian Defence Force Guard of Honour and delivered an address.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey, as guests of honour, attended a luncheon hosted by the Townsville City Council.
