On Friday, in the morning, at Jezzine Baracks in Townsville, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the Townsville City Council Citizenship Ceremony.

Following, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony, where His Excellency received the Royal salute and addressed guests.

Following, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the Townsville City Council Australia Day Awards Ceremony, where the Governor joined the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland, to present the Young Citizen of the Year Award to Miss Emma Nolan and the Citizen of the Year Award to Dr Jack Maguire.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey departed Townsville for Brisbane.
