On Thursday, in the morning, at Oaks Townsville - Gateway Suites, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM participated in a telephone interview with ABC Radio Townsville, Breakfast Presenter, Mr Michael Clarke.

Following, at Jezzine Barracks, Townsville, Her Excellency and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD attended the Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony, and the Governor received the Royal Salute, reviewed the Royal Guard of Honour and the Australian Army Band, and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, at Jezzine Barracks, Townsville, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Townsville City Council presentation of Australia Day Award Recipients ceremony and participated in the Townsville City Council Citizenship Ceremony.

In the afternoon, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Townsville for Official Travel to Torres Shire Council region.

In the evening, at the Thursday Island Community Centre, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a working dinner with Torres Shire Council representatives and the Governor addressed guests.
