On Friday, in the morning, at the Sherwood Arboretum, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC attended the planting of a significant specimen tree to mark National Tree Day, and the Governor addressed guests and planted a tree.

Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Michael Noonan AO, RAN.

In the afternoon, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Government House for official travel to Townsville.

In the evening, at the Townsville Civic Theatre, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey attended the Australian Festival of Chamber Music opening night reception and concert, Creations, and the Governor addressed guests.
