On Friday, in the afternoon, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey returned to Brisbane from Canberra, and the Chief Justice of Queensland, the Honourable Timothy Carmody ceased duty as Acting Governor.

Following, at Government House, the Governor received the Acting Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Michael Ries, for the presentation of Bills for Assent.

In the evening, at the Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, South Brisbane, the Governor, accompanied by Mrs Carolyn Jaremczuk, attended the opening night performance of Disney’s ‘The Lion King’.
