In the morning, in North Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC visited Magnetic Island, where the Governor received a briefing from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority inspected the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Ranger Base and Vessels, and viewed reef areas. 

In the afternoon, in Townsville, the Governor visited and toured the Reef HQ Aquarium, including the Turtle Rehabilitation Hospital; and then visited the Maritime Safety Queensland Base, where the Governor received a briefing on the operations of the Great Barrier Reef and Torres Strait Vessel Traffic Service. 

Earlier in the morning, Mrs Kaye de Jersey returned to Brisbane.
