On Friday, in the morning, at Torres Shire Council Chambers, Thursday Island, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD received a briefing and met with staff.

Following, at Waybeni Buway Ngurpay Mudh (Thursday Island Primary School), Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo visited the school, read a book to students, and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, at the Grand Hotel, Thursday Island, Her Excellency hosted a Private Investiture Ceremony.

In the afternoon, at the Thursday Island Community Centre, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo hosted a Community Luncheon and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, at Thursday Island Hospital, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the hospital and met with staff.

Following, at Green Hill Fort, Thursday Island, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the historic site.

Following, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo departed Thursday Island for Official Travel to Cairns Regional Council.
