In the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed the Torres Strait for Cairns.

Following, in Cairns, at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort Hotel, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted an investiture ceremony for residents of North Queensland, recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced on Australia Day 2015: Mr David Robert Glasgow AM; Mr Brian Neil Cobus OAM; Mrs Karen Jane Gibson OAM; Mr Victor Patrick Gibson OAM; Mrs Doreen Margaret Hart OAM; Ms May Mary Kepple OAM; Mr Edgar Andrew Kerindun OAM; Ms Vera Deborah Koomeeta OAM; Ms Elaine Louise Liddy OAM; Mr Peter Pedro Peter OAM; Ms Doris Komben Poonkamelya OAM; Mr Garry Lloyd Port OAM; Ms Loretta Mary Spratt OAM; and Ms Ada Panawya Woolla OAM, and then returned to Brisbane.
