In the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, received the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Honourable Ms Fiona Simpson MP, Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie and Parliament House Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr Michael Watkin for the presentation of Bills for Assent.
Following, the Governor received the Commander, 191 Squadron, Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), Colonel Thng Chee Meng, Commanding Officer, RSS Persistence, RSN,Lieutenant Colonel Sylvan C. Sumanthiran and Commanding Officer, Naval Headquarters - South Queensland, Commander Peter Tedman OAM DSM ADC RAN.
In the afternoon, at Hamilton Wharf, the Governor attended a lunch on board the RSS Persistence, hosted by the Commander, 191 Squadron, RSN, Colonel Thng Chee Meng.
Following, at Government House, the Governor received a visiting delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany, including the President of the German Bundestag, His Excellency Professor Dr Norbert Lammert, Member of the German Parliament, Dr Frithjof Schmidt, Member of the German Parliament and Chairman of the German-Australian-New Zealand Parliamentary Group, Mr Volkmar Klein, Principal Private Secretary, Kabbinettschief, Dr Lorenz Mueller, and Head of Protocol, German Bundestag, Ms Sybille Koch, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Australia, His Excellency Dr Christoph Mueller.
In the evening, at the Playhouse Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, South Brisbane, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the performance of ‘Hay Fever’.
