In the morning, at Cape Ferguson, North Queensland, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC visited the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), where the Governor received a briefing on current research activities, followed by a tour of the Institute research facilities, and a visit to the National Sea Simulator (SeaSim).

In the afternoon, the Governor returned to Brisbane.
