On Friday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM departed Government House for Official travel to Townsville City Council.

In the afternoon, at Townsville Stadium, Her Excellency hosted an Investiture Ceremony for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2023 Australia Day Honours List and the 2022 Queen’s Birthday Honours List;

• Detective Inspector Emma Judy Novosel APM, Detective Senior Sergeant David John Miles APM; Mr Kerry Matthew Dillon ASM;
• The Late Mr Leo Brian Akee OAM; Mr Ronald Norman Bassan OAM; His Honour Judge Christopher John Bowrey OAM; The Late Mr Patrick James Mildren OAM; and Mr Graham John Roland Wheeler OAM.

In the evening, Her Excellency returned to Government House from Official travel to Townsville City Council.
