In the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey received the Ambassador of the United States of America to Australia, His Excellency Mr John Berry, and Consul-General of the United States of America in New South Wales (with responsibilities in Queensland), Mr Hugo Llorens.

In the evening, at the Gold Coast Turf Club and Showgrounds, Bundall, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the official opening of the 2014 Gold Coast Show.
