On Monday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC was received by Mr Nobuo Kishi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Following, at Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) Japan Office, Tokyo, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey received a briefing from Mr Tak Adachi, Trade & Investment Commissioner for Japan, and TIQ and Tourism and Events Queensland officers.
In the afternoon, at La Rochelle Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey met Mr Hiroyuki Sakai, Honorary TAFE Queensland Culinary Ambassador for Japan.
Following, at Bunka Gakuen University, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing on operations and partnerships with Queensland institutions from Dr Sunao Onuma, President, Bunka Fashion Graduate University and other University representatives, and then toured the Bunka Gakuen Graduate Museum.
In the evening, at The Imperial Hotel, Tokyo, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey met Mr Yoshitaro Iawasaki, President, Iwasaki Group, and Ms Takaho Iwasaki.
Earlier in the day, at the Queen Elizabeth II Courts of Law, Brisbane, the Honourable Catherine Holmes, Acting Governor of Queensland, received the Honourable Peter Wellington MP, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly; Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament; and Mr Michael Watkin, Sergeant-at-Arms, for the presentation of bills, including appropriation bills, for Assent.
