On Thursday, in the morning, at 1 William Street, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.

 In the evening, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a dinner in recognition of Outstanding Queensland Contributors, and the Governor addressed guests. Guests included: the Honourable Justice James Douglas and Mrs Margaret Douglas; Mr Salvatore Napolitano and Mrs Diana Cekova; Professor Margaret Sheil AO and Mr Chris Nicholson; Sister Angela Mary Doyle AO, RSM; Brigadier Raymond McNab CSC, RFD and Ms Janis Day-Lewis; Mr Daniel O’Connor OAM; Mr Jim Carmichael and Mrs Dianne Carmichael; Mr Terry Crawford and Mrs Jan Crawford; the Honourable Jeffrey Spender QC and Mrs Glenice Spender; and Air Commodore Mark Gower AM LVO OAM (Mil) and Mrs Julie Gower.
