On Saturday, in the morning, at the Pullman Reef Hotel - Casino, Cairns, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC hosted North Queensland Investiture Ceremonies for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2020 Australia Day Honours List and the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List: Mrs Naomi Wilson OAM, Mr Francis Ireland OAM, Ms Denise Craig OAM, Ms Patricia Bailey OAM, Lieutenant Peter Asimakis CSM, RAN, Lieutenant Commander Steven Taragel CSM, RAN, Ms Gabrielle Payne ACM, Detective Senior Sergeant Michelle Clark APM, Mr Thomas Gilmore OAM, Mr Fariborz Rameshfar OAM, Mr Ashley Cupitt OAM, Mr Henry Dan AM, and Mrs Lillian Bowen OAM.

In the afternoon, His Excellency returned to Government House following official travel to Mareeba and Cairns.
