On Friday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC assumed duty as the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes assumed duty as Acting Governor of Queensland. 

Also in the morning, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Brisbane for an official visit to Townsville.

In the evening, at the Townsville Civic Centre, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey attended the Australian Festival of Chamber Music pre-concert reception where His Excellency addressed guests, and then attended the Opening Night Concert, ‘The Trout’.
