On Monday, in the morning, at the Tattersall’s Club, Brisbane City, Mrs Kaye de Jersey, Patron of the Lyceum Club, attended the Lyceum Club Christmas morning tea, and addressed guests.

In the evening, at Hamilton, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs de Jersey attended a reception in celebration of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan, and the Governor addressed guests.

Following, His Excellency commenced duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes assumed duty as Acting Governor.
