On Thursday, in the afternoon, Mr Johnathan Thurston, Mrs Samantha Thurston, Ms Lillie Thurston and Mrs Judy Lynch arrived at Government House as overnight guests of His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a dinner in recognition of outstanding Queensland contributors. Guests included: the Honourable Justice Helen Bowskill & Mr Peter Vallance; Mr Chris Freeman AM & Mrs Susan Freeman; Ms Susie O'Neill OAM & Dr Cliff Fairley; Very Reverend Peter Brannelly; Mrs Gina Rinehart; Professor Geraldine Mackenzie & Mr Keith Mackenzie; Mr Johnathan Thurston & Mrs Samantha Thurston; Mr Scott McLay & Mrs Robin McLay; Mr Russell Mitchell & Ms Valmay Hill; Mr Darren Curtis & Mrs Tanya Curtis; and Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM & Mrs Julie Gower.
