In the morning, at the Australian Embassy, Seoul, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC met the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Mr Bill Paterson PSM, and Austrade Senior Trade Commissioner, Mr Brett Cooper, for a briefing on the South Korea Queensland relationship and business, investment and cultural opportunities.
Also, in the morning, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey visited the Gapyeong Memorial Site hosted by Captain Vaughn Rixon CSC RAN, Australian Embassy Defence Attaché where the Governor laid a wreath at the Australian Memorial on behalf of the people of Queensland.
In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey met the Mayor, Gapyeong-gun, Mr Sung-Ki Kim furthering the relationship under the Queensland Gyeonggi Sister-State Agreement.
In the evening, at the Ambassador’s Residence, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended dinner hosted by the Ambassador and Mrs Helen Patterson.
Earlier, in the afternoon, the Honourable Justice Catherine Holmes ceased duty as Acting Governor and the Honourable Justice Margaret McMurdo AC commenced duty as Acting Governor.
