On Friday, in the morning, in Cairns, at the Cairns Hospital, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey visited the Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre, where the Governor and Mrs de Jersey toured the Centre and met with staff and patients.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey departed Cairns for Townsville.

In the evening, in Townsville, at the Townsville Civic Theatre, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM) VIP Reception, where the Governor addressed guests, before attending the AFCM James Cook University Opening Night Concert, ‘Transfigured Night’.
