In the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC departed Brisbane for an official visit to Yeppoon, Byfield, and Emu Park.
Following, in Yeppoon, the Governor was greeted by Member for Keppel, Ms Brittany Lauga MP, and Mayor, Livingstone Shire Council, Councillor Bill Ludwig, and then, accompanied by the Mayor and local member, the Governor travelled to Byfield to visit Byfield State School to meet students and parents at a special assembly. Following, the Governor thanked defence force and fire and emergency services personnel involved in clean-up efforts in Byfield, then visited Nob Creek Pottery and Boundary Nurseries, before returning to Yeppoon.
In the afternoon, in Yeppoon, the Governor, accompanied by the Mayor and local member, met representatives of community groups involved in the response and recovery efforts, and then the Governor travelled to Emu Park to meet residents and to view progress of the Emu Park Centenary of ANZAC Commemorative Project, before returning to Brisbane.
