On Thursday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC received Ms Naida Haxton AM.

Following, at 1 William Street, Brisbane, the Governor presided over a meeting of the Executive Council of Queensland.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an Investiture Ceremony for residents of Queensland, recipients of Australian honours and awards announced on Australia Day 2017 and Australian bravery decorations announced in August 2016.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a formal dinner in honour of Queenslanders recognised in the Australia Day 2017 Honours List. Guests included: Mr Robert Bowen AO & Ms Sabine Oates; Ms Roberta Brazil AO & Mr Lyn Brazil; Ms Tina Coco AO & Dr John Taske; Professor Peter Gray AO & Mrs Annette Gray; Adjunct Professor Lizbeth Kenny AO & Mr Colin Kenny; Mr David Barbagallo AM & Her Honour Judge Fleur Kingham; Mr Ian Klug AM & Mrs Jocelyn Klug; Mr Allan Pidgeon AM & Mrs Mary Anne Pidgeon; Professor Catherine Turner AM & Mr Peter Kaye; and Ms Cecily Pearson OAM & Mr Trevor Farrell OAM.
