On Sunday, in the morning, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Brisbane for an official visit to Sydney, New South Wales, and the Honourable Justice Margaret McMurdo AC commenced duty as Acting Governor.

In the afternoon, at Government House New South Wales, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey were received by the Governor of New South Wales, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd).

Following, at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final contested by the Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys.
