In the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Brisbane for an official visit to the Somerset Region, South East Queensland.
Following, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey visited the Patrick Estate State School, attended a special assembly, toured the school, and met staff and students, before departing Patrick Estate for Lake Wivenhoe.
Also, in the morning, at the Wivenhoe Information Centre, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended a community morning tea hosted by the Somerset Regional Council, and then received a briefing and toured Wivenhoe Dam before returning to Brisbane.
In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor received a Parliamentary delegation from Latin America: First Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies, National Congress of Chile, Republic of Chile, Mr Patricio Vallespin López; President of Committee on Sovereignty, Integration, International Affairs and Security, and Member of the National Assembly of Ecuador, Republic of Ecuador, Mr Fernando Bustamante Ponce; Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Senator for Mexico, Mexico, Senator Gabriela Cuevas Barron; and President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate, and Senator for Uruguay, Republic of Uruguay, Senator Mónica Xavier Yelpo; accompanied by Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to Australia, His Excellency Mr Raul Gangotena Rivadeneira.
