On Friday, in the evening, at Brisbane Showgrounds, Bowen Hills, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, with Mrs Kaye de Jersey, attended and officially opened the 2016 Royal Queensland Show, ‘The Ekka’, and addressed guests.

Earlier, at the Queen Elizabeth II Courts of Law, Brisbane, the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes, Acting Governor of Queensland, received Mr Thomas Ryan, Australian Electoral Commission, for the return of the Writ following the election, held on 2 July 2016, at which 12 Senators from Queensland were elected to serve in the Senate of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia.
