On Tuesday, in the morning, at Government House, the Honourable Chief Justice Timothy Carmody, Acting Governor of Queensland, received the Honourable Campbell Newman MP, Premier of Queensland, and then signed a Proclamation to dissolve Parliament.

Following, at Government House, the Acting Governor presided at a special meeting of the Executive Council, and then issued the Writ causing the general election of the 89 Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland to be held on 31 January 2015.
