On Tuesday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, received the Premier of Queensland and Minister for Trade, the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, and signed a Proclamation to dissolve the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, in the presence of the Deputy Premier and Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services, the Honourable Dr Steven Miles MP.

Following, His Excellency presided at a special meeting of the Executive Council, and then issued the Writ causing the general election of 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland to be held on 31 October 2020.
